When girls are little we tell them: “You can be anything you want to be.”
But when they’re all grown up, we tell them to “be themselves.”
These two statements are contradictory.
I recreate myself everyday. I’ll never stop playing dress up because just like when I was little, I used clothes to aspire.
Fashion is about aspiring – aspiring to be who you’ve never been – who you haven’t been yet:
CEO
Journalist
Storyteller
Wife
Mother
Fashionista

Marathoner
Christ
Sure, I’ll always be myself. I’ll always be different. I’ll always be growing.
